Another Special Service Train with Russian Armed Forces Personnel

Another special service train* carrying Russian Armed Forces personnel passed through Smolensk station early this morning at 02:10 (Moscow time) towards Belarus. The train consist, as in the previous instance, included 15 open-plan sleeping cars led by a TEP70 diesel locomotive.

πŸ“The transit of the state border between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus was carried out via the Rudnya – Zaolsha junction.
πŸ“The train's destination station is Vitebsk (Vitebsk Division of the Belarusian Railway).
πŸ“The travel time from Smolensk station to Vitebsk station is approximately two and a half hours.

Based on the number of railcars in the train consist, it can also be assumed that the approximate number of personnel transported to Belarus is β‰ˆ 700 – 800 people.

The destination station for the train that proceeded to Belarus on the previous day was also Vitebsk.
