Our sources report that since November 2022, Belintertrans has been seeking an opportunity to serve the Air Force and Air Defence Forces of the Republic of Belarus by providing the military with 30 units of 40-foot containers. This is being done pursuant to an order from the Belarusian Railway Directorate.
However, this has not yet materialized, and BTLC is attempting to offer instead 75 units of 20-foot containers, planning to retire them from the fleet in the first quarter of 2023.
π It should be noted that large-tonnage containers are well suited for mobile field storage of any cargo, as well as for housing personnel (conversion need not be elaborate; it is sufficient to install two-tier bunks and a potbelly stove).
