The Russian Federation began transferring its troops to the territory of the Republic of Belarus yesterday, with the final unloading area for equipment and personnel being the southern borders of the Republic of Belarus.
The transfer of troop trains will continue for at least another 2-3 days.
There are currently no return train diagrams for the troop trains.
Border crossing points through which troop trains are being received from the Russian Federation:
- Osinovka-state border (NOD-1 Minsk Division of Belarusian Railway);
- Zakopytye-state border (NOD-4 Gomel Division of Belarusian Railway);
- Shesterovka-state border (NOD-5 Mogilev Division of Belarusian Railway);
- Yezeryshche-state border (NOD-6 Vitebsk Division of Belarusian Railway).
Between January 16, 2022 and January 21, 2022, more than 33 troop trains carrying military equipment and military personnel of the Russian Armed Forces have already arrived in the Republic of Belarus as part of the joint strategic exercises of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation “Allied Resolve.” Trains continue to arrive.
According to the developed train diagram for troop trains, the total number of train consists that will arrive in Belarus is 200 troop trains – an unprecedented figure (there has never been such a quantity), with an average of 50 railcars per troop train.
The troop train consists include the following rolling stock units: passenger cars, boxcars (including those marked VM – explosive materials hazard class 1 and boxcars converted for transporting personnel), flatcars for transporting military equipment, and escort railcars.
As a reminder: during the joint strategic exercises “West-2021,” only 29 troop trains arrived in the Republic of Belarus over the course of a month.
